Amex dining benefits in the United Kingdom
A UK-issued American Express card can use up to three dining programmes. The Platinum Card carries the Global Dining Credit, worth £400 a year. Amex Dining Cashback and Krowd Dining's offer are Amex Offers that Amex adds to some UK cards and not others, and each runs to a fixed date. The Global Dining Credit (UK Platinum Card)
The UK Platinum Card's Global Dining Credit is worth £400 a year: up to £100 at participating UK restaurants and up to £100 at participating restaurants abroad in each half of the year, January–June and July–December. Unused credit does not carry over to the next half, and the programme runs until 31 December 2026.
Save both the Local Dining Credit and the Abroad Dining Credit to your card in the Amex app, then pay the bill in person with that card, at the restaurant's own till — a QR-code or in-app payment may not count. Only the primary cardmember's Platinum Card qualifies, not a supplementary card. Amex suggests paying at least a day before a half ends: a payment on its last day may miss it.
It is for dining in. Takeaway, gift cards and vouchers, deposits a restaurant takes upfront, and booking, cancellation and no-show charges do not count. A credit should appear on your statement within 30 days of paying.

Amex Dining Cashback (10% back)
Amex Dining Cashback gives 10% back on the bill at participating UK restaurants. It is an Amex Offer, not a card benefit: Amex adds it to some UK cards and not others — it has run on the Platinum and Preferred Rewards Gold cards, and at times on some BA and Business Platinum cards — so look for it in Amex Offers in the app and save it before you dine.
Current offers run until 30 September 2026. 106 of the UK restaurants we list are on the current offers, and each one's page gives the date its offer ends. It is separate from the dining credit: at the 12 restaurants on both lists, a Platinum Card with the offer saved can get the credit and the cashback on the same bill.
Krowd Dining: £30 back on £150+
Spend £150 or more at a participating UK restaurant and get £30 back as a statement credit. Amex runs this offer with Krowd in dated campaigns: the current one lists 20+ restaurants and runs until 30 September 2026.
Save the offer to an eligible card before you dine. Third-party delivery and takeaway services, click and collect, gift cards and vouchers are excluded. Its terms do not say that it can be combined with Amex Dining Cashback. View the current list on Krowd Dining.
Using a UK card abroad
The abroad credit works at participating restaurants in every country on the Platinum list — 1,814 of the restaurants we list. A currency conversion fee on the bill does not count towards it. Two countries work differently. In the US it applies only at the 62 restaurants on the Platinum list: the Resy credit and Global Dining Access are for US-issued cards. In Japan it applies only to prepaid bookings made through Pocket Concierge, American Express's own booking service, at the 23 Japanese restaurants we list.
