Amex dining benefits in the United States
A US-issued American Express card works differently from cards issued anywhere else: it has no Global Dining Credit. Its dining benefit is the Resy credit, and Platinum cards also get Global Dining Access by Resy, which holds tables rather than paying anything. The Resy credit (US Platinum and Gold cards)
The Resy credit is the dining benefit on US-issued American Express cards: the Platinum Card (up to $100 a quarter, $400 a year) and the Gold Card (up to $100 a year). To use it, enrol the credit in your Amex account, then pay the bill with that card at a U.S. restaurant that Resy lists as qualifying — you do not have to book through Resy. The Platinum credit resets every calendar quarter (January–March, April–June, July–September, October–December) and unused credit does not roll over. The July–September quarter's credit runs until 30 September 2026.

Global Dining Access by Resy
Global Dining Access by Resy holds reservations at in-demand restaurants for eligible American Express cardholders — tables you cannot book without the benefit. We list 638 of them in the US.
It is access, not money: no statement credit comes with a Global Dining Access booking. A restaurant can be on Global Dining Access and also count towards the Resy credit — the two lists overlap, but they are separate benefits.

Using a Platinum card from outside the US
A Platinum Card issued outside the US carries the Global Dining Credit, and that credit works in the US too — at the 62 US restaurants on the Platinum Global Dining Credit list. The amount is set by the market that issued your card (for example £400/yr in the UK or A$400/yr in Australia), not by where you dine. The Resy credit is only on US-issued cards, and Global Dining Access pays nothing, so a restaurant that is only on Resy's lists will not trigger your Global Dining Credit. Does a US-issued Amex Platinum get the Global Dining Credit?
No. A US-issued Platinum Card has no Global Dining Credit. Its dining benefit is the Resy credit — $400/yr, paid as $100 per quarter at 10,000+ qualifying U.S. Resy restaurants — which only works in the US. What a US Platinum Card does get worldwide is Global Dining Access by Resy: priority reservations at in-demand restaurants, not money.

It does not apply at restaurants that are only on Resy's lists.
Is Global Dining Access the same as the Resy credit?
No. Global Dining Access holds reservations for eligible cardholders; it pays nothing. The Resy credit is money back on US-issued Platinum and Gold cards at U.S. Resy restaurants that qualify. Many restaurants are on both lists, and each restaurant page here says which it is on.
