About Amex Dining Explorer
Amex Dining Explorer is an unofficial, independent directory of the restaurants in American Express dining programmes: 3,700+ restaurants in 18 countries, plus 11,500+ US restaurants that count towards the Resy credit. Each week it reads every programme's restaurant list, adds ratings from Google and the Michelin Guide, and puts them on one map, so you can see where your card's dining benefit works.
Not affiliated with American Express, Resy or Krowd Dining.

The market that issued your card sets the amount, not where you dine: a UK credit works in Paris or Sydney. Platinum Cards from other markets on the programme get a credit too, at an amount set by that market. A US-issued Platinum Card is the exception: it has no Global Dining Credit, and its Resy statement credit applies only at qualifying U.S. restaurants on Resy and Tock.
Dining benefits by country: United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Singapore.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Amex Platinum Global Dining Credit work?
Amex Platinum cardholders outside the US receive an annual Global Dining Credit usable at participating restaurants worldwide. Your credit amount is set by the market that issued your card, not where you dine — so you can use a UK credit in Paris, Sydney or New York. Enrol via the Amex app before dining; dine-in only; no rollover between periods. A UK-issued card's credit runs until 30 June 2029, and the other markets' credits we list until 31 December 2026. A US-issued card has no Global Dining Credit: its dining benefit is the Resy credit.
How much is the Amex dining credit?
It depends on the market that issued your Platinum card — for example, UK cards get £400/yr and Australian cards get A$400/yr. Your card's issuing market sets the amount, not where you dine. A US-issued Platinum Card is the exception: it has no Global Dining Credit, but gets $400/yr (Resy) — $100 per quarter at 10,000+ qualifying U.S. restaurants on Resy and Tock.
Can I use my Amex dining credit in another country?
Yes. There is one global list of participating restaurants — your card's issuing market sets your credit amount, but you can use it at any restaurant on the list worldwide. A US-issued Platinum Card is the exception: it has no Global Dining Credit, and its Resy statement credit applies only at qualifying U.S. restaurants on Resy and Tock.
What does not count towards the Amex dining credit?
Only dining in at a participating restaurant counts: takeaway, delivery, gift cards and deposits do not. Save the dining offer in the Amex app before you go, and use each period's credit before the period ends, because unused credit does not roll over to the next one.
Can I use the Amex Global Dining Credit in Japan?
Yes, through Pocket Concierge. In Japan the Global Dining Credit applies only to prepaid reservations made through Pocket Concierge, American Express's own booking service, so to use it at a restaurant there, book the table on Pocket Concierge and prepay it there with your Platinum Card — paying the restaurant directly does not count. Every restaurant this site lists in Japan can be booked that way. A US-issued Platinum Card is the exception: it has no Global Dining Credit, and its Resy statement credit applies only at qualifying U.S. restaurants on Resy and Tock.
What is Amex Love Dining?
American Express Singapore's dining discount for Platinum and Centurion Cards issued in Singapore. At the hotel restaurants and restaurants on its list it takes up to 50% off the food bill — half off for two diners, less for one diner or a bigger group. To use it, book with the restaurant or through the Platinum Concierge, then pay with your physical Singapore-issued card. It applies to dine-in food only (not drinks, tax or service charge), and not on blackout dates such as public holidays and their eves. It is separate from the Platinum Global Dining Credit, and cards issued outside Singapore do not get it.
What is Amex Dining Cashback?
Amex Dining Cashback (UK only) gives 10% back at 270+ participating UK restaurants. Current offers run until 30 November 2026. It is separate from the Platinum Dining Credit and can be combined ("double-dip") at participating restaurants. Enrolment required via Amex Offers.
Can I combine ("double-dip") both programmes?
Yes — at participating UK restaurants you can earn the Platinum Dining Credit and Dining Cashback on the same visit.
How this directory is built
Every week we read each programme's restaurant list. The Platinum Global Dining Credit list comes from American Express’s own restaurant directory; the map pins and Michelin ratings of the restaurants listed before September 2026 come from Tim Rogers’ Platinum Dining, with our thanks to Tim. The UK Dining Cashback offers come from the Amex Dining website, Krowd Dining's from its own site, Global Dining Access and the Resy credit from Resy's directory, Japan's restaurants from Pocket Concierge, and Singapore's Love Dining restaurants from Amex Singapore's own pages.
Restaurants that join or leave any of these programmes are recorded, week by week, on the What’s new page: one record across every programme since 31 May 2026, with a feed to follow it by.
Ratings, photos and opening hours come from Google. Michelin stars come from Wikipedia's lists of Michelin-starred restaurants (CC BY-SA 4.0), one for each Michelin Guide, and a restaurant's page names the list and guide year its star is from; Bib Gourmands come from the Michelin Guide. Restaurants listed only for the Resy credit show Resy's own rating and photos instead. Where a UK restaurant has a First Table deal, its page shows it.
